Erica McDowell, Owner of SKYN Lounge®, has been in the skincare industry for 30 years. She is a licensed aesthetician and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville. She has written numerous articles and has been featured in The Courier Journal, The Voice Tribune, nFocus Magazine, Today’s Woman Magazine, Kentucky Monthly, Her Scene Magazine, Skin INC., and Kentucky Healthy Woman.
Courtney L., Licensed Aesthetician - Courtney has been a Licensed Aesthetician for 10 years. She holds over 20 certifications in both medical and non-medical skin care services and treatments. Her specialty services include chemical peels, microneedling and utilizing medical grade skin care products. Her favorite lines are Neocutis and ZO Skin Health!
Josie A., Licensed Aesthetician As a dedicated and passionate esthetician recently from Indiana, Josie brings a personalized touch to every client interaction. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of skin health, she customizes skin care treatments that address individual concerns and needs. With a warm and welcoming approach, she strives to create a relaxing and rejuvenating experience that not only transforms client's skin but also nurtures their overall well-being. In addition, Josie has an artistic edge and passion for Signature Facials and Essentials Facials!
Carolyn S., Licensed Aesthetician Carolyn has been a Licensed Aesthetician for over 8 years and is equipped with more than 20 certifications in both medical and non-medical skin care! She specializes in treating dry, sensitive, inflamed, and acne-prone skin, while also having extensive experience addressing a wide range of skin concerns. Her certifications include microneedling, dermaplaning, chemical peels, and working with clients to customize their personal skin care routines.
Alexis M., Client Coordinator Alexis is our Client Coordinator and Licensed Aesthetician who will personally guide you through you SKYN Lounge visit. She is passionate about others feeling confident and cared for. She oversees SKYN Lounge Memberships and recommends your individualized skin care regimen and boutique product selections. She loves sharing her personal skin care tips (PCA Skin is her fave!) and hand selecting your personal routine.
Michael Hughes, MD - Dr. Hughes is our Medical Director. Dr. Hughes was born in Columbus, OH and grew up in Annapolis, MD. He went to college and medical school at Wake Forest University. He trained in surgery at the University of Virginia and then transplant surgery at the University of Minnesota. He came to Louisville in 2010 as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Louisville and was promoted to Associate Professor. He co-founded Koligo Therapeutics, which has been acquired by Orgenesis (ORGS on NASDAQ). He then left UofL in 2019 to create Vanguard Surgical, where he cares for and performs surgery on patients from all over the region with gastroparesis and chronic pancreatitis.
